The Technical Product Owner (TPO) for Insurance PAS will be responsible for driving the end-to-end design, architecture, and technical roadmap of Newgens Policy Administration System (PAS) across Life, Health, and P&C lines of business. The role blends deep insurance domain knowledge with strong technical leadership in Java-based enterprise applications, microservices, APIs, and cloud deployment architectures.
The TPO will work closely with architects, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure that PAS solutions are scalable, extensible, and aligned to enterprise standards not limited to configuration, but encompassing core product enhancement, performance, integration, and deployment frameworks.
Requirements:
- 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in PAS development within the insurance domain, preferably in P&C and/or Life Insurance.
- Strong experience in Java / J2EE, Spring Boot / Microservices architecture, and REST/SOAP API design
- Deep hands-on expertise in RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) data modeling, optimization, and query tuning.

- Strong understanding of insurance policy lifecycle (quote, bind, issue, endorsement, renewal, and cancellation).
- Experience with core insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, or TCS Bancs is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (IRDAI, AML, CKYC) and domain workflows for both Life and General Insurance.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage delivery of complex technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 812 years of total experience with at least 4+ years in Insurance product/solution architecture or technical lead roles.
- Certifications in AWS/Azure architecture or enterprise integration frameworks will be a plus.
- Experience working with both Life and P&C insurance products.
- Certification or experience in Guidewire, Duck Creek, or equivalent platforms.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Architecture & Design
- Own the technical roadmap for PAS within the Insurance Accelerator portfolio.
- Define solution architecture, API specifications, and deployment for PAS.
- Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise principles such as modularity, scalability, security, and reusability.
2. Product Development & Enhancements
- Lead design and technical development of PAS features including policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, billing, and claims.
- Collaborate with business analysts and solution architects to translate functional requirements into technical designs and implementations.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Dev Leads to translate business use cases into robust technical components.
- Oversee integration design with underwriting, CRM, billing, reinsurance, and external regulatory systems.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the bridge between Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams ensuring clarity in scope, feasibility, and technical boundaries.
- Work with Business Product Owners to prioritize backlog items and ensure technical stories are well-defined and estimable.
- Support solution demonstrations, client discussions, and architectural reviews.
