Plumbing & Fire Fighting Design Engineer

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing and Fire Fighting Design Engineer specializing in PHE & FF design. Additional expertise in Electrical, HVAC and ELV systems will be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should have a solid background, preferably in consultancy, with experience in designing of Hospitality projects such as hotels, clubs, wellness centre, gym, recreation facilities, restaurants, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Plumbing & Fire Fighting system designs, including load calculations, water percolation calculation, equipment selection, Piping layouts, schematic, isometric drawings, etc.
• Organize, assign, and coordinate essential engineering and design tasks with a team of consultants and architects to efficiently develop construction design drawings and documents.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in results to ensure accuracy.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Provide support for tendering, budgeting, procurement, and construction activities as needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate in real time with disciplines like HVAC, Electrical, structural, interior and architectural to develop designs that ensure seamless integration of services.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for Promoters and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards and regulations in Plumbing & Fire Fighting design.
• Participates in site visits to assess existing PHE and Fire Fighting systems and propose improvements or retrofits.
• Ensure designs comply with local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• B. Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

Experiences

• 8 to 10 years of experience in Plumbing & Fire Fighting system design for Hospitality Project.

Software Knowledge

• Plumbing software, SprinkCALC, etc.
• Proficiency in MS office, AutoCAD is essential.

Technical Proficiency

• Conversant with fire Protection standards such as NFPA, TAC, NBC, IS standard / and other related codes.
• Perform Internal plumbing system includes domestic cold & hot water supply, soil, waste & venting, rainwater down takes & disposal systems based on rainfall intensity, basement drainage, subsoil drainage, STP, WTP, Irrigation system, Drip irrigations, Solar system for Hot water, etc.
• Hydraulic design calculation for Pump head, water supply, sewerage, and storm water system through excel sheet.
• Hot water system including Hot water generator, Steam generator, Domestic Steam boiler and heat pump etc. & relevant design calculations as per standards & applicable code.
• Must have knowledge on Indian Plumbing design codes & standards.
• Fire Fighting system design knowledge on including sprinkler, hydrants (internal & external), water curtain, plant rooms and water tanks, fire extinguishers, gas suppression system, Fire suppression, kitchen hood suppression, Fire extinguisher, signages as per relevant standards and applicable local (NBC, IS Code) & international codes (NFPA).
• Design knowledge of natural gas systems (PNG, CNG) will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with project management principles and practices.
• MEP coordination & checking.
• Safety and Security design as per FLS and HSSE Guidelines.
