Platform Engineering Engineer 3

Main Responsibilities
•    Facilitate implementation of new cloud platform components following agile best practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-As-Code
•    Participate in building tools and processes to support public cloud infrastructure and platforms.
•    Build, administer and maintain systems in accordance with Service Availability objectives or agreements with internal or external customers.
•    Provide evidence-based troubleshooting and triaging at times under at high pressure to identify and resolve root causes for service disruption. 
    Document for problem management and recommend mid-term resolution.
•    Perform systems analysis to document critical flows and requirements of new and existing systems
•    Participate in systems design with other team members and architects. Encourage shared and common design practices with metrics for cost, performance, capacity, availability
•    Develop and maintain processes for recoverability, fail-over, disaster recovery, and business continuity
•    Manage backup, recovery and retention of customer data according to contractual and functional requirements.
•    Document and deliver operational focused monitoring, reporting, and technical guidance to L2 Support
Preferred Work Experience
•    5+ years managing, administering or supporting highly-available hosted environments.
•    3+ years responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems.
•    5+ years experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications in both public cloud and private hosting environments.
•    3+ years experience with Windows web hosting
•    3+ years experience with Windows Server AD and/or Entra ID
•    3+ years experience with distributed version control i.e. GitHub, DevOps, TFS, etc. helpful but not required
•    3+ years experience facilitating and participating in systems design reviews
•    3+ years experience automating deployment of applications using desired state configuration, PowerShell, or other automation languages.
•    1+ years with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Container Registries
•    Attitude to learn on inexperienced areas.

•    Certification in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, or Kubernetes
•    Supporting, deploying, or authoring .Net applications in Windows Internet Information Services.

Years of Experience :
•    6-9 years of technical delivery experience in a Datacenter (On-premises) environment and Cloud platforms.
•    Subject matter expert level of understanding for core windows operating systems
•    Subject matter expert level of understanding of virtualization platforms such as Vmware
•    Strong fundamental understanding of IT concepts such as AD, LDAP, DNS, TCP/IP stack, NAS/SAN, storage fabric
•    Working knowledge of containerization platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes and Open Shift desired
•    Experience with hardware vendor platforms such as Cisco UCS, PaloAlto, F5, Commvault, Pure Storage
•    Experience with Cloud provider platforms such as Azure, Google and AWS desired
•    Experience with deployment tooling for enforcing desired state configuration such as Chef, Ansible and Powershell desired
•    Experience with leveraging deployment pipelines for infrastructure code deployment configuration management a plus
•    Desire to learn, lead, and support transforming IT technical practices
