Join us in helping leading engineering and product development teams unlock the value of technology and drive scalable, sustainable innovation.Your RoleAs a Plastic Design Engineer – Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing plastic components and enclosures from concept to production. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and performance, applying best practices in mechanical design and plastic engineering.In this role, you will:Design plastic components and enclosures using CAD tools, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.Drive product development from concept design to detailed engineering, prototype build, validation, and tooling (soft and hard).Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Select appropriate plastic materials based on mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements.Collaborate with tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth product realization.Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, and implement GD&T standards.Support prototype development and testing, analyze results, and refine designs accordingly.Work closely with suppliers and tooling vendors to ensure tooling feasibility and quality.Maintain documentation and design records in accordance with engineering standards.Your ProfileBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.4 to 8 years of experience in plastic product design, material selection, and mechanical engineering.Proficiency in CAD tools (preferably Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo or equivalent).Strong understanding of plastic materials, molding processes, and tooling techniques.Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA, GD&T, and engineering fundamentals.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skill
