Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Plant Head and senior leadership to translate business goals into HR priorities.
  • Lead HR planning aligned with production, quality, safety, compliance, and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and execute people strategies to support growth, operational excellence, and cultural values.

2. Talent Management & Development

  • Drive manpower planning in collaboration with operations to ensure the right talent mix for efficiency and business needs.
  • Implement robust performance management frameworksgoal setting, reviews, calibrations, and succession planning.
  • Design and deliver learning & development, leadership development, technical training, and competency building programs.
  • Lead talent reviews and succession planning for critical roles.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a high-performance and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Proactively manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution in line with policy and legal requirements.
  • Lead engagement initiatives (surveys, action plans, recognition forums).

4. Compensation, Benefits & Policies

  • Ensure competitive and compliant compensation, benefits structures, and HR policies for plant employees.
  • Partner with corporate HR on reward strategy, appraisal cycles, variable pay, and incentive schemes.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure clear communication of policy changes.

5. Operational HR & Compliance

  • Oversee all statutory and legal complianceFactories Act, Labour Laws, ESIC, PF, Wages, etc., with zero tolerance for violations.
  • Lead HR operationsattendance, shifts, workforce optimization, contract labour management, onboarding/offboarding.
  • Maintain personnel records, HR MIS, and dashboards for leadership reporting.

6. Safety, Culture & Change Management

  • Partner with Safety, Production & Quality teams to integrate HR initiatives into total quality and safety culture.
  • Champion organizational change programs with minimal disruption and maximum buy-in.

7. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate effectively with Finance, Production, Safety, Legal, and Corporate HR for alignment of policies and initiatives.
  • Represent HR in union negotiations (if applicable), compliance audits, and external stakeholder forums.
