Position - Piping Stress Engineer

Location - Vashi, Navi Mumbai

Experience - 4 - 8+ Years

Qualification - B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing calculations by using software CAESAR II and Pipe Stress methodologies to ensure conformance with ASME B31.3 code requirements.
• Pipeline Analysis as per B31.4, B31.8
• Performed piping flexibility analysis for critical piping systems during preliminary design and detailed design phase of Project.
• Adequate Knowledge of stress analysis software like Caesar II, and Rohr 2
• Executed analysis for sustained, thermal, multiple operating cases, and occasional (viz winds,
• seismic, relief, etc.)
• Analysis of Cryogenic lines with surge, slug and dynamic analysis. (Water Hammer)
• Perform pipe stress analysis for different equipment like Centrifugal Pumps, Steam turbines,
• Compressors, Tanks, Exchangers, Heaters, Vessels, columns, AFC Coolers, Filter and PSV etc.
• Adequate knowledge of PRG Nozzle pro software.
• Trunnion checks using Kelloggs method also FE analysis by using FE Bend.
• Piping stress analysis of Jacketed piping.
• Provide pipe loading information to Civil/Structure.
• Experience in miscellaneous pipe support loading.
• Resolve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles & high secondary stress in piping
• Selection of spring hangers, spring support for pipe and Preparation of technical data for spring log sheet.
• Conceptualizing expansion loop placing and anchor bay location on pipe rack.
• Knowledge to perform analysis like API 610 Pump Nozzle load check, API 617 Centrifugal compressor, and API 662 Heat Exchanger, NEMA SM23 Turbine nozzle load check.
• Locate and identify pipe supports on isometrics along with type of supports as per support standard.
• Well information to perform Flange leakage check as per PEQ, NC-3658 and ASME sec. VIII.
• Preparation of critical line list as per stress design basis.
• Review and sign-off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting stress IFC documentation as per client requirement.
• Preparation complete documentation of the stress analysis and support design.
• Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers
• Experience in visual clearances of Non-critical Piping systems.
• Coordination with Piping layout team for inputs, feasibility of routing changes and support location based on availability of civil structures

Required Skills

• Develops piping flexibility, support element, expansion joint and shock arrestor specifications.
• Performs visual, manual, and computer analysis of piping systems.
• Compiles calculation packages for each system analyzed.
• Reviews request for quotation and purchase requests for cost and technical completeness for stress related components.
• Assists in resolving field construction inquiries.
