Piping Design Lead

We specialize in conceptual design, feasibility studies, Basic Engineering, FEED, detail design, relief valve revalidation, PHA facilitation, and related engineering services for capital project execution. We are expanding our Chennai engineering center and looking for a dynamic Lead Process Engineer to drive high-impact projects working with our North American clients and multi-disciplinary RVN team.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling:Lead the 3D modeling and layout of complex plant facilities, ensuring optimal routing, constructability, and maintenance access.
• Coordination:Work with Process, Mechanical, and Structural disciplines to resolve clashes and optimize spatial integration using Navisworks.
• Deliverables:Oversee the extraction of 2D deliverables, including piping isometrics, plot plans, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Compliance:Ensure piping designs strictly adhere to ASME B31.3, API standards, and client-specific piping material specifications (PMS).
• Stress & Support:Review and approve pipe support layouts and coordinate with the stress engineering team for critical line routing.
• Supervision:Manage a team of designers and drafters, ensuring quality and schedule adherence for US project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Education:Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical drafting certification.
• Experience:15+ years of piping design experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
• Software:Master-level proficiency in AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SmartPlant 3D (S3D), AutoCAD and Plant3D.
• Soft Skills:Strong leadership and excellent written/verbal English for seamless collaboration with international teams.
