Role: Piping Design Engineer (Solid Edge Specialist)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Piping Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Bangalore . This is a full-time role focused on delivering high-quality piping systems for complex projects within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Process industries.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Solid Edge and a proven track record of navigating the unique safety and regulatory standards of the energy and chemical sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling & Design: Develop comprehensive 3D piping models, equipment layouts, and skid designs specifically using Solid Edge .
• Drafting & Documentation: Generate precise P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), Isometrics, GADs (General Arrangement Drawings), and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to international codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.1, and API .
• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with structural, process, and electrical teams to perform clash detections and ensure seamless integration of piping systems.
• Site Support: Provide technical assistance during the fabrication and installation phases, resolving any design-related issues on the fly.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Experience: 4 to 6 years of core experience in piping design and engineering.
• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Solid Edge is mandatory. Candidates without Solid Edge experience will not be considered.
• Industry Background: Direct experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical industries.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pipe support selection, material specifications, and thermal expansion considerations.

Qualifications:

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Bangalore .
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent communication for vendor/client interaction, and a "first-time-right" approach to design.
