Job Title - Pick Developer / Pick Programmer

Role Summary
The Pick Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting applications built on the Pick / MultiValue database platform. This role focuses on enhancing legacy systems, integrating with modern technologies, and ensuring stability, performance, and data integrity across business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Pick BASIC / MultiValue BASIC
- Support and optimize Pick / MultiValue databases (UniVerse, UniData, D3, jBASE, etc.)
- Design and modify data models, files, and dictionaries
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, and performance issues
- Develop batch processes, reports, and interfaces
- Integrate Pick systems with modern platforms (APIs, web services, RDBMS)
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives
- Ensure application stability, security, and data accuracy
- Collaborate with functional teams and document technical solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Pick / MultiValue BASIC
- Hands-on experience with MultiValue databases (UniVerse, UniData, D3, jBASE)
- Solid understanding of Pick data structures and file handling
- Experience with shell scripting (Unix/Linux)
- Ability to debug legacy systems and production issues
- Familiarity with batch processing and reporting
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
