Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. The role plays a key part in delivering efficient pharmacy operations and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
• Accurately label, package, and store medications as per guidelines.
• Process prescriptions and verify patient and insurance information.
• Manage inventory, stock replenishment, and expiry tracking.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Handle billing, insurance claims, and prescription refills where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, safety standards, and protocols.
• Support customer service by addressing patient queries and concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
• Assist in audits and regulatory inspections.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technology or a related field.
• Valid Pharmacy Technician license or registration, as applicable.
• 1+ years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy environment.
• Knowledge of medication names, dosage forms, and pharmacy procedures.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and experience with pharmacy management systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Tools & Systems (Preferred)

• Pharmacy Management Systems and POS tools
• Inventory and billing software
• Electronic prescription systems
• Basic MS Office skills

Certifications (Mandatory / Nice to Have)

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) or equivalent
• State or national pharmacy registration, as applicable
