Performance Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented ETL Tester and Performance Engineer to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of enterprise data pipelines. The role involves validating ETL processes, performing data quality checks, and conducting performance and load testing to ensure optimal system behavior under varying workloads.

Key Responsibilities

ETL Testing Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to design ETL test strategies and test cases
• Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes across source and target systems
• Perform data reconciliation, data integrity, and data completeness checks
• Execute functional, regression, and system testing for ETL workflows
• Identify, log, and track data defects using defect management tools
• Validate data transformations, aggregations, and business rules
• Collaborate with data engineers, DBAs, and business stakeholders to resolve issues

Performance Engineering Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for ETL jobs and data pipelines
• Monitor ETL job execution times, resource utilization, and system bottlenecks
• Analyze performance test results and provide optimization recommendations
• Tune SQL queries, indexes, and ETL workflows for better performance
• Support performance benchmarking and capacity planning activities

Required Skills

• Strong experience in ETL testing and data validation
• Proficiency in advanced SQL skills (complex queries, joins, subqueries, performance tuning)
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Python for data validation, test automation, scripting, and log analysis
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience analyzing job execution trends, data volumes, failures, and SLA adherence
• Proficiency in identifying performance bottlenecks through log analysis, query analysis, and system metrics
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting
