Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a PCB Designer Robotics Systems based in Gurugram. The PCB Designer will be responsible for designing circuits for robotics systems, IoT Devices which involves creating and testing analog and digital PCB layouts, ensuring successful integration with electrical components and systems. The role also includes collaborating with the engineering team to ensure optimal functionality, troubleshooting, and developing designs suitable for radio frequency (RF) modules. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and development of innovative roboticsand IoT solutions in the agriFood/Climate technology domain.
KEY Responsibility :
- Design multi-layer PCBs for robotics applications including:
- Motor control systems
- Sensor acquisition modules
- Power regulation circuits
- Communication interfaces
- Embedded computing systems
- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, footprints, and component symbols using industry-standard EDA tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD, etc.).
- Optimize PCB layouts for:
- EMI/EMC performance
- Signal integrity
- Thermal stability
- Mechanical constraints
- Perform DRC/ERC checks, high-speed routing, and impedance-controlled routing where required.
- Define PCB stack-ups and interface standards in collaboration with electrical and firmware teams.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure:
- Proper PCB fitment
- Mounting solutions
- Connector placement
- Cable routing within robotic assemblies
- Generate production-ready files including:
- Gerber / ODB++ files
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Pick-and-Place files
- Assembly drawings
- Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
- Conduct design reviews, incorporate feedback, and iterate designs based on prototype testing results.
- Support testing, debugging, and validation of prototype boards.
- Maintain documentation, version control, and revision logs for all PCB designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of:
- Analog & digital electronics
- Power electronics
- Motor control circuits
- Signal integrity concepts
- Experience in multi-layer PCB design (4+ layers preferred).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major EDA tool (Altium preferred).
- Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and EMI/EMC best practices.
- Experience with high-speed routing and impedance control.
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets and reference designs.
- Strong documentation and version control practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in robotics, embedded systems, or industrial automation.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485, Ethernet).
- Understanding of thermal management and power distribution design.
