About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Direct Tax & Payroll Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role involves reviewing tax returns, managing multi-state payroll tax compliance, and ensuring accuracy across all key reporting functions. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, respond to tax-related queries, and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Direct Tax returns prepared by the team, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific tax regulations and accuracy of calculations.
• Run and analyze scheduled reports from various Payment Services systems as per documented processes or business requests.
• Research, analyze, and resolve payroll tax notices across multiple state tax jurisdictions.
• Respond to internal business unit queries, deliver tax information, prepare tax-related documentation, and provide guidance on compliance requirements.
• Identify and propose process improvements to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience - Minimum 7 years
• Experience in Direct Tax preparation and payroll tax compliance preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
