Were looking for a hands-on Payroll & HR Operations Specialist who can run payroll end-to-end with accuracy, ensure statutory compliance, drive smooth onboarding, and keep our HR processes clean and scalable. The ideal person is strong with HR systems, data, and process design and execution.
This is a role for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and solving operational gaps before they become problems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll Management
- Own and run monthly payroll processing end-to-end (pre-payroll inputs, review, reconciliation, final payout file).
- Validate salary inputs such as new joins, exits, variable pay, shift allowance, LOP, reimbursements, etc.
- Work with Finance to ensure accurate and timely disbursement.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure zero payroll leakage / mismatch.
2. Compliance & Statutory Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and payroll statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Income Tax TDS, Form 16, etc.)
- Keep track of any regulatory changes and make sure policies/systems are updated accordingly.
3. HR Operations & Onboarding
- Manage employee onboarding workflow: document collection, background verification, creation of employee codes, HRMS creation, induction scheduling.
- Ensure all joiner paperwork and declarations are complete and compliant before payroll cut-off.
- Support off-boarding: full & final settlement inputs, exit documentation, relieving letters.
4. HR Systems & Data
- Act as the system owner / power user for the HRMS (attendance, leaves, payroll module, database hygiene).
- Ensure data accuracy in HRMS and drive adoption across teams.
- Generate HR dashboards and MIS reports (headcount, CTC, attrition, leave trends, overtime cost, etc.) and share with leadership.
5. Process, Policy, and Governance
- Partner with HRBPs to build / refine SOPs for People and Payroll processes.
- Identify gaps or leakages in current processes and proactively fix them.
- Set up clear, documented workflows so that there is one source of truth for HR operations.
What an Ideal Trooper in this role would bring
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, including statutory deductions and components of CTC.
- Experience working on an HRMS / payroll system (e.g. Keka, Darwinbox, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, etc.).
- High attention to detail and comfort working with numbers.
- Strong analytical thinking: able to look at trends, spot anomalies, and ask why.
- Process mindset: able to design and document a workflow, not just follow one.
