Part-Time Cybersecurity Specialist / Incident Response Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to support us in responding to a recent security incident involving fraudulent e-gift card transactions. The primary focus will be incident investigation, system hardening, and prevention of future attacks .

• Investigate the root cause of the security breach
• Analyze logs, access patterns, and system activity to identify unauthorized access
• Determine whether automated bots, scripts, or AI-driven attacks were involved
• Perform a security audit across web apps, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure
• Identify vulnerabilities and compromised components
• Recommend and help implement security fixes and best practices
• Assist in enforcing system-wide password resets and session invalidation
• Review authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms
• Provide guidance on secure relaunch of e-gift card functionality
• Prepare a short incident report with findings and recommendations

• Proven experience in Cybersecurity, Incident Response, or SOC roles
• Strong knowledge of web application security
• Experience with:
• Authentication & authorization systems
• OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
• API security
• Cloud security (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Familiarity with bot attacks, fraud detection, and abuse prevention
• Log analysis and forensic investigation skills
• Understanding of password policies, MFA, rate limiting, and monitoring
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly

• Experience with e-commerce, payments, or gift card systems
• Knowledge of WAFs, CAPTCHA, bot management tools
• Certifications (optional): CEH, Security+, CISSP, OSCP
