Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Oracle EBS DBA to support mission-critical Oracle E-Business Suite environments. This freelance opportunity is perfect for professionals who prefer flexible, remote work while delivering expert-level Oracle DBA and EBS administration support, with a strong focus on robust disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12/R12.2.x).
• Manage Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• Perform EBS cloning, patching (AD/TXK, CPU, PSU), and concurrent manager tuning.
• Lead and strengthen disaster recovery (DR) setup and operations: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive DR architectures using Oracle Data Guard (physical standby databases) for synchronous/asynchronous replication, near-zero data loss (RPO), and fast failover (low RTO); configure and test switchover/failover processes; integrate with RMAN backups for full restore capabilities; ensure multi-region or multi-site DR readiness (including OCI Full Stack DR where applicable); perform regular DR drills, snapshot standby conversions, and application tier synchronization for seamless recovery in outages or disasters.
• Support performance tuning and troubleshooting of application and database layers.
• Monitor system health, plan capacity, and ensure high availability.
• Work closely with application teams for issue resolution and optimization.
• Maintain security, compliance, and backup strategies.
• Document activities and provide proactive suggestions for system improvements, particularly around DR enhancements and risk mitigation.

Must-Have Skills:

• 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience with 5+ years on Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x).
• Strong expertise in:
• Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN
• Data Guard (including Active Data Guard) for disaster recovery setup, configuration, monitoring, switchover/failover, and integration with EBS environments
• Database cloning and EBS patching/troubleshooting
• Proficient in Shell scripting and Unix/Linux administration.
• Hands-on experience with concurrent processing and WebLogic within EBS.
• In-depth knowledge of backup/restore, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability strategies for mission-critical Oracle EBS systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Oracle Cloud (OCI) exposure, including Full Stack Disaster Recovery (FSDR) automation for EBS
• Oracle Apps DBA Certification or OCP
• Automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Git)
• SSL/TLS, Load Balancing, OEM 13c
• EBS Customizations & Integration knowledge
