Operations Manager

We are looking for a results-driven Operations Manager to lead a large-scale US Export Operations team in Mumbai with deep roots in cargo container logistics and a specialized background in Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, or Polymers.

The Role

The incumbent will spearhead a high-performing team of 2025 professionals. This is a night-shift role (7:00 PM 4:00 AM IST) designed to provide seamless, real-time support to US business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a large team, ensuring equitable workload distribution and clear strategic direction.
• Operational Excellence: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues and drive automation and process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Vendor & Compliance Oversight: Manage relationships with shipping lines, truckers, and warehouses while ensuring strict adherence to US export regulations and internal SOPs.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor KPIs, mitigate operational risks, and partner closely with US-based senior leadership to ensure global alignment.

Who You Are

• The Industry Expert: 812+ years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain, with a specific focus on US export processes and trade compliance.
• The Proven Leader: 35+ years of hands-on experience managing large teams (20+) in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline
• The Sector Specialist: Direct experience in the Chemical, Specialty Chemical, or Plastic/Polymers industries.
• The Problem Solver: Possess advanced analytical skills, proficiency in ERP systems, and the ability to remain calm under high-pressure, high-volume scenarios.
