Operations Mgr - Nuveen Global Invesment Operations
Nuveen Investments is one of the investment industry's largest providers of Retail Separately Managed Accounts (SMA). The Middle Office Associate is responsible for a broad set of operation functions that support Nuveen and its affiliate's SMA business. Functions include client onboarding, transaction processing, portfolio accounting and document management. The candidate will work closely with counterparts in the US to create a seamless processing and service platform.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Review inbound documents (email/fax/websites) and input data into the Business Process Management (K2) platform.
  • Review and enter new account data into internal systems as part of the client onboarding process.
  • Process and monitor various client directed transaction requests.
  • Daily monitoring and reconciliation of separately managed accounts between the portfolio accounting system and client’s external custodians.
  • Communicate with custodians, sponsors and brokers to resolve issues related to daily processes, data delivery, trade settlement, etc.
  • Perform quality control checks on critical data elements.
  • Process client-directed changes to existing portfolios (e.g., registration changes, strategy changes, security restriction requests, terminations, etc.)
  • Review account exception reports to identify potential risk outliers.
  • Update and review asset allocation models.
  • Monitor and communicate corporate action events.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly department reporting.
  • Interface with internal and external business teams to identify root cause of exceptions and assist with corrective and preventive action
  • Train and coach peer team members
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred

Job Requirements And Qualifications:

Required Education:

Master’s Degree/MBA

Accounting, Business, finance or related discipline

Required Experience:

9+ years

  • Investment  Banking / Asset Management Industry experience in an offshored operations environment.
  • 8 + years of experience in Retail Separately Managed Accounts (SMA).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • General knowledge of financial markets and products
  • Knowledge of Separately Managed Accounts (SMA)
  • Experience with Portia, Eagle Star, Security APL or K2 BPM is a plus
  • Strong technical skills
