Must have Skills: Proficiency in installing, configuring, and managing PostgreSQL databases. Experience with database backup and recovery solutions (e.g., pg_dump, pg_basebackup). Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database issues. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment. Good to Have: Experience with PostgreSQL replication methods (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication). Knowledge of PostgreSQL extensions and their practical applications. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks. Experience with PostgreSQL in cloud environments (e.g., AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL). Job Responsibilities: Willing to work on 24/7 shifts Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure their performance, availability, and security. Assist in the design, installation, configuration, and upgrading of PostgreSQL database software and related components. Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies using tools such as pg_dump, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving. Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries for improved efficiency. Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect data integrity and comply with organizational standards. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain maximum uptime. Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to support application deployment and ongoing maintenance.
