Job Title: Manager Risk & Assurance

Location: Pune

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manager Risk & Assurance to support risk identification, governance initiatives, and assurance projects across multiple business entities. The role will involve evaluating risk management frameworks, driving risk initiatives, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting senior leadership with risk insights and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in risk management, regulatory frameworks, and accounting practices, along with the ability to manage cross-functional projects and engage with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

• Assist in assessing the effectiveness of risk management functions across entities, including Operational Risk Management frameworks.
• Identify and drive risk-related initiatives based on emerging business and regulatory trends.
• Lead projects focused on emerging risks such as AI risk, model risk, and regulatory risk.
• Monitor regulatory developments and analyze their potential impact on business operations.
• Support implementation and strengthening of Operational Risk Management frameworks.

Assurance & Governance

• Conduct and lead risk forums and workgroups, ensuring effective follow-up on action items.
• Review policies and frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Support development and implementation of group-level governance policies and standards.
• Drive assurance initiatives related to data protection, privacy, and compliance risk management.
• Review internal audit observations and assist in identifying key risk areas and mitigation strategies.

Risk Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly Risk Dashboards for senior leadership highlighting key risk indicators and early warning signals.
• Monitor areas such as:
• Regulatory risk
• Reputational risk (including social media)
• Fraud and operational risk indicators
• Market and macroeconomic risks
• Customer grievance trends
• Attrition risk
• Conduct benchmarking and analytical reviews of risk indicators and industry developments.
• Undertake research and analysis on risk, accounting practices, and regulatory updates.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory environment
• Knowledge of accounting standards and financial risk concepts
• Ability to manage cross-functional projects and stakeholder relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of macro-economic and industry developments

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory

Experience

• 4+ years of post-qualification experience
• Experience in risk management, assurance, governance, or internal audit roles preferred
• Exposure to financial services sector will be an advantage
