This role is based in Chakan, Pune

The Material Planner/Buyer is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability by managing procurement for 800+ parts across more than 20 suppliers. The role includes analyzing production plans, optimizing ordering strategies, negotiating operational and logistics agreements, and maintaining inventory levels. This position ensures CTB (Clear to Build) readiness, meets buyer KPIs, and drives supplier performance metrics like CLIP. The individual also acts as the SPOC for OMM (Operational Material Management) buyer KPIs, PO management issues, process mining, and multiple OMM transformation initiatives, ensuring smooth operational execution and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Material Planner & Buyer to support end‑to‑end material availability, planning, and procurement activities. The role is key to ensuring smooth production, optimized inventory, reliable supplier performance, and seamless management of material flow during industrialization and ramp‑up phases.

Your Role :

• Drives operations Demand Fulfilment by ensuring material availability in the supply chain

• Tactical material planning (forecast and handshake feedback) with internal and external suppliers and DCs, in an optimized way through the use of planning calculation methods

• Operational material planning and Purchase Order management

• Identify supply risks and issues, drive mitigation actions and escalate if needed

• Master data settings to enable touchless replenishment

• Continuous harmonization and improvement of material supply processes ensuring Philips Global Processes execution

• Monitor and secure supplier delivery performance

• Follow up material life cycle, securing in time availability and prevention of obsolescence

• Inventory analysis and policy definition to secure material availability against minimum inventory investments

You are the right fit if you have :

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (mandatory)

• 4–8 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain operations

• Strong understanding of order placement procedures and ERP-based purchasing systems

• Familiarity with key suppliers, including delivery terms, pricing structures, and lead‑time considerations

• Good knowledge of internal departmental workflows to maintain effective coordination and communication

• Solid understanding of inventory management principles, including safety stock planning aligned with service levels

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an onsite role.
