OCI - Senior Engineer

Summary :

Strong experience in OCI infrastructure covering compute, networking, security, storage, IAM, DNS, load balancers, backups, observability, and IaC (Terraform/OCI Resource Manager).

Proven expertise in migrations (on-prem & multi-cloud), databases (DBCS/DBaaS), VMware on OCI, and end-to-end cloud architecture following best practices

Responsibilities:

• Good understanding of shapes, images, and capacity types of instances.
• Should have experience in creation of custom images.
• Should have experience in compartment creations-based on workloads by considering best practices.
• Should have experience in managing IDCS & IAM users and groups and Policies.
• Should have experience in Integrate OCI IDCS with On-premise or Azure AD.
• Should have knowledge of Dynamic groups and resource principles.
• Should have good knowledge and experience in instance configurations & Auto scaling configuration concepts.
• Good knowledge on IP CIDR notation, DHCP, DNS, OSI Model, TCP, UDP & BGP traffic, SMTP.
• Creation & management of OCI Public & Private DNS Zones & records.
• OS knowledge (Linux/Windows)
• Should have experience in create network landing zone by considering best practices.
• Should have good knowledge in creation & managing the security lists and network security groups and its rules.
• Should have hands on experience in managing route tables.
• Should have experience in creation & managing IGW, NAT Gateway and Service Gateway.
• Should have experience in customer connectivity (IPSec & Fastconnect) using CPE and DRG.
• Should have experience in Load balancers and WAF.
• Should have experience in managing boot & block volumes, such as creation, remove and termination.
• Should have knowledge on nvme storage.
• Should have experience in managing volume backups and clones.
• Should have experience in volume groups management and Cross region replications.
• Should have experience in OCI native Backups and policies.
• Should have experience in creation and managing object storage and buckets.
• Should have experience in managing pre-authentication requests.
• Strong experience in Life cycle policy rules
• Should have experience in creating and managing File systems.
• Should have knowledge on migrations procedures supported in OCI.
• Experience on lift and shift migration process.
• Good knowledge required on migration procedure using any third-party tool, RackWare.
• Experience in on-prem to other clouds (AWS, AZURE or GCP) migrations.
• Having knowledge on Database or Oracle Applications.
• Should have experience in creating DBCS in OCI.
• Good knowledge is required on DBaaS and supported databases in OCI
• Should knowledge in backups of DBCS and managing RMAN backups into object storage.
• Managing DB storage, shape, and clone.
• Should have experience on Observability & Monitoring services such as Notifications, Alarms, service connector hub, resource utilization dashboards.
• Application performance monitoring - APM
• Should have knowledge on VMware migration to OCI VMware solution (SDDC)
• Experience on Infrastructure as a Code (IAC) such as Terraform & OCI resource manager.
• Should experience with IaC tool with any other cloud platform.
