An OCI Admin is responsible for the deployment management and maintenance of applications and infrastructure within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure OCI environment Key duties include provisioning and configuring compute instances storage and virtual networks implementing and managing security using IAM policies monitoring performance and optimizing resources for cost effectiveness automating tasks with scripts and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery through backup and recovery strategies

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

Provisioning and configuring OCI services such as compute storage networking VCN and databases

Implementing and maintaining Identity and Access Management IAM policies roles and permissions

Managing and maintaining OCI environments including tenancy setup and compartmentalization

Security Compliance

Implementing security policies access controls and compliance standards

Applying security patches and performing vulnerability management to maintain security and stability

Performance Optimization

Monitoring OCI resources for performance and utilization

Optimizing resource allocation for costeffectiveness and efficiency

Implementing High Availability HA and Disaster Recovery DR solutions

Automation Scripting

Developing and maintaining automation scripts using tools like Terraform or scripting languages Shell Python to streamline tasks

Collaboration Support

Collaborating with development DevOps and other IT teams

Providing Level 2 support for cloudrelated incidents and troubleshooting issues

Coordinating with Oracle support for escalations and complex issues

Documentation

Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures

Required Skills Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and OCI services

Expertise in OCI networking VCN security lists

Experience with automation tools like Terraform

Knowledge of security principles and best practices for cloud environments

Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery strategies

Soft Skills

Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Certifications

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications are often a plus such as the OCI Certified Associate or Professional
