Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret nuclear medicine imaging studies (PET, PET-CT, SPECT, SPECT-CT, Gamma Camera, etc.).

  • Plan, supervise, and administer radionuclide therapies (e.g., thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, bone pain palliation, etc.).

  • Ensure accurate reporting of nuclear medicine scans for timely diagnosis and clinical decision-making.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (oncology, radiology, cardiology, endocrinology, etc.) for integrated patient management.

Operational & Administrative:

  • Ensure compliance with Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) and other statutory regulations regarding radiation safety and handling of radioactive materials.

  • Supervise and train technologists, junior doctors, and other staff in nuclear medicine practices.

  • Contribute to departmental protocols, SOPs, and quality assurance programs.

  • Participate in hospital committees, audits, and accreditation processes (NABH/JCI).

Teaching & Research (if applicable):

  • Conduct academic sessions for residents, interns, and paramedical staff.

  • Engage in research activities, clinical trials, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Stay updated with latest advancements and innovations in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
