Position: NOP Commerce Technical Lead

Location: Vadodara (preferred)/Ahmedabad/Remote

Experience Required: 8+ years overall IT experience (6+ years in NOP Commerce development)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced NOP Commerce Technical Lead to drive our ongoing e-commerce platform upgrade and transformation initiatives. This role will be pivotal in upgrading NOP Commerce from 4.5 to 4.7, integrating Amazon and payment systems, implementing GA4, enhancing shipping/logistics, developing CRM/ERP plugins, and optimizing performance.

Looking ahead, the platform will be transitioned into a SaaS-based solution to remain competitive against industry-leading proprietary and third-party e-commerce platforms. The selected candidate will play a critical leadership role in ensuring seamless upgrades, robust integrations, improved performance, and enterprise-grade security.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade of NOP Commerce from version 4.5 to 4.7, ensuring backward compatibility and minimal disruption.
• Design and develop custom plugins (payments, shipping, reporting, accounting) and custom themes with smooth upgrade pathways.
• Architect and implement scalable solutions aligned with future SaaS/microservices adoption.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural best practices.
• Drive API integrations with Amazon Ads, Seller Central, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, CRMs, ERPs, shipping workflows, and multiple payment gateways.
• Manage cloud infrastructure (Azure), including Redis cache, session management, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, integrate SonarQube for code analysis, and ensure secure coding practices.
• Conduct load testing and performance optimization for high-traffic e-commerce systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and QA to ensure timely and successful delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

Custom Development

• Proven expertise in custom NOP Commerce plugin and theme development.
• Hands-on experience with import/export modules and commonly used eCommerce extensions.

Architecture & Coding

• Deep understanding of NOP Commerce MVC architecture.
• Strong command of C#, .NET Core, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and related libraries.
• Proficiency in debugging, refactoring, and optimizing legacy code.

Integrations

• Hands-on integration experience with Amazon Ads, Seller Central, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads.
• Proven ability to integrate CRMs, ERPs, shipping workflows, and payment gateways (e.g., Authorize.net, PayPal, Stripe).
• Knowledge of accounting plugins and invoice workflows.
• Experience in API migrations (Python C# or other conversions).

Cloud & Performance

• Strong knowledge of Azure portal, Azure SQL, Redis caching, and performance tuning.
• Experience in load testing and optimizing high-traffic eCommerce platforms.

Code Quality & DevOps

• Proficiency with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating SonarQube and resolving static/dynamic code issues.
• Knowledge of secure coding best practices for eCommerce.

Advanced Capabilities (Preferred)

• Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS applications on NOP Commerce.
• Familiarity with microservices-based architecture.
• Full-stack development exposure for end-to-end solution oversight.

Mandatory

• 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least 6+ years in NOP Commerce eCommerce development.
• Demonstrated track record of leading enterprise-scale eCommerce projects.
