NOC / Network L3 Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Troubleshooting & Escalation
• Resolve critical incidents escalated from L2, including deep packet analysis, flow diagnostics, and log correlation.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Architecture & Design Support
• Collaborate with network architects on design validation, migrations, and technology refresh.
• Review and approve high-impact changes under CAB governance.
• Change & Configuration Management
• Execute complex changes (routing policies, firewall architecture, SD-WAN templates, QoS strategies).
• Validate post-change performance and security posture.
• Performance Optimization
• Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for LAN/WAN/WLAN and perimeter security.
• Recommend upgrades and automation strategies for proactive monitoring.
• Security & Compliance
• Administer advanced firewall configurations, VPN setups, and NAC policies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and audit requirements.
• Knowledge Leadership
• Author advanced SOPs, remediation guides, and automation scripts.
• Mentor L1/L2 teams and drive continuous service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN), SD-WAN, and QoS.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper switches, Aruba/Cisco wireless, Palo Alto/Fortinet firewalls, and F5 load balancers.
• Strong understanding of automation frameworks (Python, Ansible) and NOC monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change governance.
• Certifications: CCNP/CCIE or equivalent advanced networking credentials.
