Job Title: NOC cum Fiber Engineer

Location: Bangalore & Chennai

Department: Network Operations / IT Infrastructure

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled NOC cum Fiber Engineer to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, especially optical fiber networks. The role involves handling NOC operations along with field-level fiber support to ensure high network uptime and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

NOC Operations:

Monitor network performance and uptime using NOC tools (24x7 monitoring).

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues within SLA timelines.

Raise and manage trouble tickets for network faults and outages.

Coordinate with field teams and vendors for issue resolution.

Maintain logs, incident reports, and daily status reports.

Fiber Network Management:

Handle fiber fault detection and restoration activities.

Perform OTDR testing, splicing, and fiber cable troubleshooting.

Identify fiber cuts, attenuation issues, and connectivity problems.

Coordinate with local teams for fiber laying, jointing, and maintenance.

Ensure proper documentation of fiber routes and network diagrams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or related field.

15 years of experience in NOC operations and fiber network support.

Hands-on experience with:

Optical Fiber (OTDR, splicing, testing)

Network devices (routers, switches)

Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)

Familiarity with NOC tools and ticketing systems.

Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Willingness to work in rotational shifts (24x7 environment).

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of GPON, DWDM, or MPLS networks.

Experience in ISP / Telecom / System Integrator environment.

Certifications like CCNA or Fiber Optic certifications will be an advantage.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple incidents.

Team player with proactive problem-solving approach.
