Sandfits has 3 foundries with a capacity of 60000 tons PA. Sandfits has a dedicated machine shop to deliver precision iron components to customers worldwide. Sandfits Foundries are located in and around Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India and has a certified IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

We are looking for Design and Development Engineer for our Foundry

Key Responsibilites

• Design casting components for Furan Sand processes.
• Deliver First Time Right designs with no tooling or dimensional issues.
• Validate design with customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Complete design tasks on schedule; track and maintain cycle-time adherence.
• Coordinate with tool room/pattern shop for timely tool and pattern development.
• Ensure On-Time Tool Delivery from work order to tool receipt.
• Estimate casting weight accurately; minimize variance at PPAP.
• Support trials and prove-out for Green Sand & Furan Sand castings.
• Implement design-based cost reductions and yield improvements.
• Troubleshoot design issues: shrinkage, gas, erosion, core fitment, mold stability.
• Apply basic casting simulation (MAGMA/NOVACAST/AutoCAST) for gating/riser validation.

Qualifications

Gradudate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 7 years experience in New Product Development department.
