Role Summary
* Position: Networking Support Engineer Level 1
* Function: First-line support for network incidents and service requests
* Reports to: Level 2/3 Engineers or Network Team Lead
* Objective: Provide basic troubleshooting, monitoring, and escalation support to ensure smooth network operations
Key Responsibilities
* First Response: Handle incoming tickets related to connectivity, Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN issues.
* Basic Troubleshooting: Diagnose simple problems (IP conflicts, cable faults, Wi-Fi connectivity).
* Monitoring: Use dashboards and monitoring tools to check device health and alerts.
* Escalation: Document issues and escalate unresolved problems to Level 2/3 engineers.
* User Support: Assist employees with basic network access, password resets, and printer connectivity.
* Documentation: Log incidents, maintain ticket records, and update knowledge base articles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in IT/Computer Science (preferred).
* Experience: 02 years in IT/network support.
* Certifications:
CompTIA Network+ (preferred)
Basic CCNA knowledge is an advantage
* Technical Knowledge:
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Familiarity with switches, routers, and Wi-Fi APs
Basic troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, ipconfig)
Skills in Practice
* Customer Service: Communicate clearly with non-technical users.
* Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve simple issues.
* Teamwork: Work closely with Level 2/3 engineers for escalations.
* Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate documentation of incidents.
