About the Team and the Role:

The Network Development Team at Ather is responsible for expanding Ather’s retail footprint in India by scouting and activating long-term partners in markets with high growth potential.

This role is for a Network Development Manager who will manage the end-to-end partner appointment process, ensuring seamless facility development, recruitment, and operational readiness for new retail launches.

Responsibilities:

• Scout and activate long-term network partners to strategically expand Ather’s retail footprint across India.

• Evaluate, propose, and award partnerships to establishments in markets where commercial opportunity exists.

• Prepare detailed evaluation reports for internal stakeholders and facilitate interviews between potential partners and Ather.

• Manage the partner appointment project, including facility planning, execution of development, and staff recruitment.

• Coordinate training, initial stock orders, pricing, and logistics to ensure partner readiness for operations.

• Oversee operating standards reviews, budgets, and marketing plans to ensure brand consistency at new locations.

• Support regional teams in the launch of new partners through close coordination with the Marketing Team.

• Maintain a database of existing networks from similar brands across potential markets to inform expansion strategy.

Required qualifications

• A postgraduate or graduate degree in Business or Engineering.

• 1 to 5 years of experience in Sales and Network Development, preferably from an Automotive background.

Must Have Competencies

• Strong business development capabilities to identify and activate high-potential retail partnerships.

• Comprehensive understanding of retail business models and the commercial drivers of dealership operations.

• Proficiency in project management for facility development, including infrastructure planning and timeline execution.

• Competency in stakeholder evaluation and the preparation of professional reports for internal partnership approvals.

Good to Have Competencies

• Understanding of Automobiles and EV technology to effectively communicate product requirements to partners.

• Experience in market research and database management to track competitor network footprints.

• Ability to coordinate cross-functional logistics and homologation processes for new site setups.

• Skilled in developing marketing plans and launch activities tailored to regional retail environments.
