Job Description
Job description
Position: .NET Backend Integration Developer (Contract)
About the Role:
We are looking for a .NET Backend Integration Developer for a targeted contract role to help bridge our legacy and modern platforms. You will help support our policy export system as it transitions to support both a legacy database and a newly introduced policy administration system. The system reads policy data to produce XML feed files that downstream systems depend on. Your primary goal will be to implement a dual-database approach that is simple to build, easy to support, and straightforward to undo when the legacy system is eventually retired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a small .NET database selector component to dynamically route database connections based on queue item labels.
- Update the existing export queue reader, export key creator, and XML data preparer to handle the dual-database logic.
- Modify existing nightly renewal batch jobs to query both the legacy and new databases, combining the results into a single list for processing.
- Ensure the XML output format remains strictly identical regardless of which database the policy data originates from.
- Manage configuration files across multiple environments and configure dependency injection to register multiple database connections.
- Collaborate with database teams to ensure stored procedures and query functions are correctly mirrored in the new database structure.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4-5 years of professional backend development experience, primarily using C# and the .NET framework/Core.
- Strong proficiency in generating, structuring, and preparing XML data.
- Familiarity with message queues and processing event-driven data.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on writing clean, isolated code that avoids scattering database-awareness throughout the codebase.
- Familiarity with Jira for project management
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have:
- Experience with dependency injection setups in .NET.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and endpoint management.
- Experience using Jira for project management and tracking.
- Proficiency with version control (Git).
Employment Details:
- Employment Type: Contract
- Duration: 6 months
- Salary/CTC: Negotiable based on experience.
- Location: Hybrid (Gurugram)
