About Flynetics Systems

Flynetics Systems is a deep-tech robotics company building autonomous drones, crawlers, and hybrid robotic platforms for industrial inspection, asset monitoring, and predictive maintenance across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, heavy industry, and defence .

As we evolve our robotic platforms, we are now entering a phase where data is everything and that data must increasingly come from Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies.

To do this right, we want to bring in a hands-on NDT specialist earlysomeone who can help us co-develop inspection capabilities , not just advise from the sidelines.

What Were Looking For

Were seeking a highly motivated NDT professional who can work with our robotics, AI, and mechanical teams to embed NDT thinking into the core of our platforms .

This is not a catalogue-ordering role.

This is a build, adapt, innovate, and problem-solve role .

Your Role & Contribution

As our NDT Consultant, you will:

• Help define damage detection and assessment strategies for robotic inspection platforms (drones, crawlers, hybrids).
• Guide selection and integration of suitable NDT methodologies , such as:
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT / PAUT)
• Eddy Current Testing (ECT)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT)
• Radiography (where applicable)
• Thermography
• Acoustic Emission / Vibration-based methods
• Work closely with robotics and AI teams to:
• Translate NDT principles into robot-deployable sensing solutions
• Shape data requirements for AI-based defect detection and analytics
• Assist in sourcing, adapting, and indigenising NDT equipment :
• Identify cost-effective sensors, probes, and instruments
• Suggest alternatives, retrofits, or custom builds suitable for a bootstrapped startup
• Leverage vendor networks in India and abroad creativelynot expensively
• Participate in prototype reviews, field trials, and validation efforts
• Help build Flynetics long-term NDT roadmap as a core capability

Who You Are

Must-Have:

• Strong background in Non-Destructive Testing (industrial, infrastructure, aerospace, energy, or defence).
• Hands-on experience with one or more advanced NDT techniques.
• Deep understanding of damage mechanisms, defect classification, and inspection constraints .
• Comfortable working in early-stage, resource-constrained environments .
• Curious, inventive, and willing to co-create rather than just consult.

Highly Valued:

• Experience applying NDT in challenging or non-traditional inspection environments .
• Prior work with robotics, drones, crawlers, or automated inspection systems .
• Exposure to sensor integration, data acquisition, or AI/ML-assisted inspection .
• Vendor, lab, or OEM exposure that helps with creative sourcing and validation.

Engagement Model

We understand that the right expert may not want (or be able) to join full-time initially.

This role is intentionally structured as consulting / part-time/freelance , with flexibility and scope to deepen engagement over time.
