National Business Manager Consumables

Location: Mumbai / Delhi / Bangalore / Hyderabad

Reporting to: Leadership Team


Role Overview

Our client is building a dedicated, high-growth consumables vertical and are seeking a hands-on National Business Manager to lead and scale this division across India.

A key focus of this role will be driving the national growth strategy for Proteintech, a globally recognized manufacturer of high-quality antibodies, ELISA kits, and recombinant proteins, along with other strategic consumables portfolios.

This is a full P&L-driven leadership role requiring end-to-end ownership of revenue, gross margins, team building, distribution strategy, forecasting, and vendor alignment.

The objective is to build a predictable, scalable consumables engine with strong recurring revenue across Academia, Biopharma, CROs, Diagnostics, and Industrial segments.


Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Ownership & Growth

  • Own national sales targets for the consumables portfolio, including Proteintech.
  • Drive aggressive quarterly and annual growth with region-wise accountability.
  • Develop structured go-to-market strategies for antibodies, ELISA kits, recombinant proteins, and related reagents.
  • Convert key institutional and industry accounts into recurring, high-retention customers.

2. Team Building & Management

  • Build and lead a dedicated consumables sales team across India.
  • Define territory structures, KPIs, and performance benchmarks.
  • Conduct structured monthly pipeline and performance reviews.
  • Drive a culture of solution-based selling, not discount-led transactions.

3. Portfolio & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary national interface for Proteintech and other international principals.
  • Drive demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Optimize pricing structures and margin discipline.
  • Lead new product introductions and national launch strategies.

4. Channel & Distribution Strategy

  • Build and optimize distributor networks where strategically relevant.
  • Improve stock planning and reduce slow-moving or dead inventory.
  • Align demand planning with import cycles.
  • Strengthen order-to-delivery efficiency.

5. Commercial Excellence

  • Protect gross margins through structured pricing frameworks.
  • Ensure CRM hygiene and data-driven pipeline management.
  • Monitor receivables in coordination with finance.
  • Improve conversion ratios and repeat purchase frequency.

6. Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor pricing and positioning in antibodies and ELISA segments.
  • Identify white-space opportunities in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
  • Analyze consumption trends and import data to uncover growth pockets.


Candidate Profile

  • 815 years of experience in Life Sciences consumables sales.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-regional sales teams.
  • Strong domain knowledge of antibodies, ELISA kits, molecular biology reagents, and cell biology consumables.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale revenue
