MYP Biology

Key responsibilities

• Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective biology lessons to secondary students, using a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles.
• Curriculum: Develop and implement curriculum aligned with IB MYP standards.
• Assessment: Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
• Skills Development: Promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a passion for the natural world.
• Collaboration: Work with other science teachers and departments to enhance curriculum and teaching methods.
• Communication: Maintain clear and positive communication with students, parents, and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience teaching MYP and/or DP Science is often preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Knowledge: A strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and its assessment practices is essential.
• Mindset: A commitment to student learning and development, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
