Job Description:

Responsible for end-to-end product and mold design, including concept creation, 2D/3D modeling, DFM, and plastic material selection. Prepares and manages drawings, BOMs, mold costing, and supports reverse engineering, design reviews, and outsourcing data.

Ensures optimized mold design, engineering change control (ECR/ECN), and cross functional coordination for timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer samples and verify against 2D and 3D CAD data
• Create new Product & Mold design concepts in 2D and 3D. Mold costing in detail
• Execute reverse engineering and rapid prototyping (RPT) activities
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare DFM, DFMEA, and design checklists
• Record and maintain minutes of design review meetings (DRM)
• Maintain and update customer property drawing lists and master drawing records
• Prepare and release outsourcing development data as per BOM (RM, MB, jigs, fixtures, etc.)
• Issue 2D and 3D drawings for customer or HOD sign-off
• Create & optimise, Packing box design & configuration
• Complete and review mold flow checklists
• Prepare and follow standard design output formats
• Implement product design changes as per ECR (Engineering Change Request) and ECN (Engineering Change Note)
• Review and approve mold design concepts
• Prepare HRQ and MBQ specifications for mold base
• Release BOM for inserts and insert stack for raw material purchase
• Issue 2D and 3D drawings for insert stack, roughing, and heat treatment
• Conduct mold design reviews and complete mold design checklists
• Approve manufacturing from design to mold base and hot runner systems
• Prepare and release mold BOM and mold QAP (Quality Assurance Plan)
• Update mold designs as per engineering change requests (ECR/ECN)

Skills:

1. Primary (must have) Product design, Mold Design, Mold Costing, Software NX Unigraphics, 2D drawing AutoCAD, Detailing, Knowledge of GDNT, Tolerances, Stack tolerances
2. Secondary (also have) ISO, Packing design, Design Library, QAP
