About the Team and the Role

The Direct Sourcing (Supply Chain) team at Ather is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of electronic components and manufacturing services that power our intelligent vehicles.

This role is for a Module Lead and Supplier Manager who will design sourcing strategies, manage EMS partnerships, and drive cost competitiveness while ensuring seamless component availability and risk mitigation across the electronics value chain.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute short and long-term sourcing strategies for electronic components and EMS.

• Establish cost structures and benchmarks for EMS categories to ensure market competitiveness.

• Meet program targets for cost, quality, and timelines while managing price fluctuations and PPV.

• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and develop business cases for implementation.

• Manage Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory and execute liquidation strategies with partners.

• Track value chain capacity and mitigate supply chain risks to align with business plans.

• Oversee Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) implementation and obsolete management at supplier sites.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and finance teams to improve supplier performance and audit compliance.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or an MBA in Supply Chain Management.

• 8-12 years of functional experience in procurement within the Automobile or manufacturing industries.

Must Have Competencies

• Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) category management and subcategory cost structuring.

• Strategic sourcing and commodity strategy development for electronic components.

• Supply chain risk assessment and mitigation planning across the value chain.

• Should-cost analysis and bridging levers between financial reports and supplier quotes.

Good to Have Competencies

• Management of Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory liquidation and validation.

• Execution of Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and supplier obsolete management.

• Proficiency in conducting ISA/PPAP and financial audits at supplier locations.

• Market intelligence gathering for component lead times and industry benchmarking.
