Job Description:
IFC Ventures is expanding its premium beauty, skincare, and personal care portfolio across India. We are looking for a high-performing Modern Trade Sales Manager with strong experience in FMCG, Beauty, Skincare, Haircare, and Cosmetics categories to lead and grow our modern trade business across national and regional retail chains. This role requires deep knowledge of Modern Trade operations, strong relationships with MT buyers & category managers, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving visibility, executing in-store promotions, and building high-impact brand presence across beauty, skincare, and wellness categories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Modern Trade Management
Manage and grow business across Modern Trade outlets (Reliance Retail, DMart, More, Spencers, Wellness Forever, Apollo Pharmacy, Nykaa, etc.).
Drive sell-in, sell-out, secondary sales, and category growth for skincare & cosmetics.
Ensure full execution of planograms, end-cap displays, and shelf space optimization.
2. Key Account Handling
Lead negotiations with National & Regional Key Accounts, including pricing, margins, visibility budgets, and annual business plans.
Build strong relationships with buyers, category heads, purchase managers, and merchandising teams.
Manage JBP (Joint Business Planning), listings, onboarding, and category reviews.
3. Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute MT sales strategy, aligned with skincare & personal care category trends.
Track and improve sales performance, market share, productivity, and ROI.
Drive promotional planning, in-store activities, samplings, and brand visibility.
4. Forecasting & Inventory Management
Monitor stocks, replenishments, ageing, RTV management, and supply coordination with distributors.
Ensure accurate forecasting for skincare & cosmetics SKUs based on demand patterns.)
5. Merchandising & Visibility
Ensure product visibility, POSM execution, shelf branding, gondola placements.
Conduct regular market visits to evaluate display execution, competitor visibility, and customer insights.
6. Data, Insights & Reporting
Analyse POS data, category performance, competitor activity, and MT channel insights.
Prepare weekly & monthly sales reports, KPIs, and GTM performance dashboards.
Required Skills & Competencies
4+ years of experience in Modern Trade Sales within FMCG, Beauty, Skincare, Haircare, Cosmetics, Personal Care industries.
Strong experience in Key Account Management, MT negotiations, and sales planning.
Excellent knowledge of Modern Trade processes, category management, MIS reporting.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams marketing, supply chain, merchandising.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving brand penetration.
Understanding of consumer behaviour, skincare trends, premium beauty segment, and competitive landscape.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience with brands in premium beauty, skincare, cosmetics, derma brands, personal care, or wellness.
Strong network across MT retailers, beauty chains, pharmacies, and modern trade distributors.
Experience working with products like moisturizers, serums, sunscreen, haircare, body care, etc.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
MBA preferred but not mandatory.
