Model Governance Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for a Model Governance Analyst with 25 years of experience to support SS1/23 remediation activities within a banking environment. The role will focus on model documentation, governance processes, and lifecycle support , working under the guidance of senior model governance and model risk professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support SS1/23 remediation activities, particularly related to model documentation
• Assist in reviewing and updating model artefacts
• Help ensure model documentation aligns with SS1/23 Model Risk Management principles
• Perform documentation gap analysis against internal governance standards
• Support the maintenance of model lifecycle governance , including:
• Model inventory updates
• Change management documentation
• Periodic review and validation support materials
• Liaise with model developers, validators, and risk teams to gather required inputs
• Prepare supporting materials for internal governance committees and audits
• Assist in responding to internal audit or regulatory review requests

Required Skills & Experience

• 25 years experience in banking, financial services, or consulting
• Basic to intermediate understanding of pricing models or financial models
• Experience working with model documentation or risk/control documentation
• Exposure to regulatory standards, model lifecycle governance and risk management
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear written material

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Awareness or early exposure to SS1/23 or similar model risk regulations
• Experience supporting model validation, risk, or quantitative teams
• Background in finance, mathematics, engineering, economics, or related fields
• Experience in remediation, audit support, or regulatory change programmes
• Familiarity with regulatory-driven environments and structured governance processes
