Migration Architect- Informatica/Databricks

Job Description

• Relevant degree in computer science, engineering or related field of study and 12+ years of related work experience.
• Proficient Technical Architect with experience in design & implementation of applications and solutions on modern Data Engineering & Big Data platforms on cloud.
• Extensive experience in designing technology components for data engineering solutions and defining solution architectures and reference architectures leveraging cloud services.
• Strong expertise in ETL modernization & migration, especially Informatica to Databricks / cloud-native ETL.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Architecture patterns and practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration strategies.
• Deep handson experience architecting Databricks Lakehouse solutions including PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog.
• Must have experience in application / data warehouse modernization projects and creating new Big Data & Data Engineering solutions on public cloud platforms.
• Ability to understand multi work stream PS offerings and articulate end to end solutions, to understand the business requirements and map them to organizational offerings.
• Experience with AI , ML cloud offerings and solutions ( good to have)
• Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing and executing end-to-end data engineering solutions using Databricks/Spark for multiple large-scale data processing and integration projects.
• Strong SQL proficiency covering T-SQL/SQL and Spark SQL analytics queries, with an additional advantage for candidates with prior exposure to Data Warehousing (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift/Databricks SQL/legacy)
• Prior experience of Informatica and Databricks is must.
• Proven track record in monitoring and troubleshooting data and analytics pipelines, adept at diagnosing and rectifying performance issues, data quality discrepancies, and other technical impediments.
• Proficiency with at least one Cloud platforms - AWS / Azure / GCP
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and realization with new age offerings
• Experience to integrate third party application / services with existing solutions
• Thorough understanding of Non functional requirements of a solution like performance, scalability, monitoring, application performance testing, security, etc.
• Understanding of industry specific compliance needs and implementation of the same using cloud infrastructure and offerings.
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent preparation and presentation skills, Good communication skills and proficiency in driving architecture and design conversations with stakeholders
• Experience in Presales, consulting and creating solutions
• Capability to offer hands-on technical leadership across multiple projects, if the need arises.
• Must have relevant cloud Associate/Professional certifications

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the endtoend migration from Informatica to Databricks, including architecture design, workload assessment, and modernization strategy.
• Provide thought leadership to customers, helping them strategize platform modernization, migration roadmaps, and future-state architecture.
• Create and review architectural designs and solution frameworks aligned with business requirements and technical context.
• Define scalable ETL/ELT patterns using Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native architectures while ensuring governance, security, and compliance.
• Optimize Spark workloads through partitioning, caching, and cluster tuning for highperformance batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Identify automation opportunities for migration, validation, lineage, and orchestration across the data platform.
• Support activities involving scope definition, proposal creation, cost optimization, and solution fitment aligned to customer context.
• Stitch integrated solutions leveraging multiple tools, offerings, cloud services, and product capabilities to meet complex business needs.
• Lead complex proposals, conduct final reviews, and collaborate with business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, conduct design/architecture reviews, and drive best practices across development, CI/CD, and operations.
