Job Description: Middleware Engineer (WebSphere, Tomcat / JBoss)

Role Summary

The Middleware Engineer provides L1/L2/L3 support for enterprise Application and Web Server platformsprimarily WebSphere, with some Tomcat and limited JBoss. The role covers environment management, automation, incident response, and CI/CD enablement. This position includes 24x7 rotational support, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, IBM HTTP Server, and Apache across all environments.
• Handle deployments, configuration, monitoring, and release activities.
• Provide rapid response to highseverity incidents and lead root cause analysis.
• Restore services during outages and proactively identify issues.
• Coordinate with multiple technical teams for problem resolution.
• Plan and execute upgrades, patching, and performance improvements.
• Build and maintain automation using Java, shell scripting, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and environment automation.
• Participate in shift-based and on-call 24x7 support.

Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with WebSphere and good exposure to Tomcat/JBoss.
• Solid UNIX/Linux and scripting expertise.
• Automation experience with Ansible and Jenkins.
• Background in global enterprise technical support.
• Good understanding of middleware architectures and supporting technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work across teams.
• Interest in keeping current with middleware technologies.
