Who we are looking for

In this role, you will work with State Street teams from around the globe to lead teams supporting a global premier investment management client. You will have leadership and strategy responsibility to oversee and deliver all day-to-day reconciliation and transactional responsibilities of the middle office team in a fast-paced, flexible and exciting environment. The role will need to initiate and develop good communication and interpersonal relationship with business operations teams and IT and to maintain the high level of service that is currently being provided to all the clients.

This is a varied operational and managerial position which is market and client facing, with a senior level of responsibility leading both the Transaction Management and Reconciliation teams within Middle Office Services in Coimbatore. The responsibilities of the teams are responsible for trade confirmation, processing, settlement, and reporting along with the end to end processes facilitation cash and position reconciliation. The candidate is should be a hands on manager who is required to ensure the teams under their responsibility undertake delivery to both internal and external clients, ensure timely response to client initiated queries, and escalation of any unresolve matters to manager for best resolution solution.

What you will be responsible for

  • Track notification for mandatory & voluntary Corporate Action event and notify Investment manager
  • Work with Investment Manager in getting their instructions for Voluntary events and effectively communicate it to respective custodian
  • Process mandatory corporate action event on effective/pay date and confirm payments
  • Track payments for voluntary events
  • Inform Investment managers once cash/securities posted and available for trading
  • Proactively work on rectifying the cash/position breaks derived out of corporate action event.
  • Developing a strong risk management and control environment
  • In depth understanding and practical knowledge of corporate action processes, systems and technology
  • Well versed with different financial products like MBS, Fixed income, Equities, Swaps, futures, collateral etc.
  • Liaise with colleagues in region or divisions globally where required for client issue resolution
  • Recommend and support process improvement initiatives

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent or relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience in client communication and interaction at all levels
  • In depth understanding of Middle Office operations, preferably Reconciliation Operations. Product and Industry knowledge preferable across – Equity, FI, FX and ETD, inclusive of Global Markets.
  • Proven experience in client communication and interaction at all levels especially senior and regulatory levels
  • Strong MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint skills necessary
  • Strong English written and spoken ability
  • Knowledge on Corporate Action tool like CAPTAIN etc.

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience in leveraging technology solutions including low-code tools, SQL, Python or similar is advantageous
