Microsoft Dynamics 365 NAV/BC Technical Consultant

About the Role

OnActuate is looking for a full-time Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV Technical Consultant to execute end-to-end projects for our customers, including analysis, design, customization, testing, and technical support.

Responsibilities

• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central (On-Premises and Cloud) with Power BI.
• Strong technical expertise in MS Dynamics NAV/BC domain and functional knowledge of all modules.
• Responsible for project delivery and hands-on development.
• Analyze and estimate client requirements; provide technical design and solutions.
• Develop integrations between MS Dynamics NAV/BC and other systems using API, OData, and SOAP Web Services.
• Experience with VS Code, IIS, TFS/VSTS, source control, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
• Proficient in Agile development methodologies.
• Expertise in Web API programming and creating documentation (TDD, flow diagrams).
• Knowledge of BC licensing and subscription process, migration of NAV entities, and upgrade activities.
• Exposure to NAV CRM integration and AI/Copilot features.
• Maintain relevant Microsoft Certifications.
• Implement and deploy Dynamics 365 Business Central (design, configure, train, support).
• Convert functional requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
• Make technical recommendations for installation, modifications, and custom development.
• Experience in Finance and Jobs modules (NAV 2013/2015 and above).
• Proficient in RDLC Report Development, SQL Server, and programming in AL, C/AL, and C/SIDE.
• Experience developing ISV Solutions and Power BI dashboards.
• Understanding of Events and Subscribers, Dynamics NAV Web Services, HTML5, and .NET.
• Participate in work scoping and estimation.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to design systems per client requirements.
• Provide technical input for functional specifications when customizations or extensions are needed.
• Understand Microsoft Dynamics NAV versions and Business Central architecture.
• Stay updated and ready for new Microsoft releases and features.

Preferred Skills

Experience with VS Code, IIS, TFS/VSTS, source control, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
