Roles and Responsibilities

  

Adobe Pass is a well-established product suite serving the TV Everywhere industry, powering authentication and access experiences for major North American media and entertainment providers. We operate our systems at massive scale, supporting major live sports, business, and lifestyle events across millions of viewers.  

We are now expanding our team with an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of outstanding engineers who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems. This role requires a strong technical leader who can balance deep architectural thinking with people leadership, execution excellence, and multi-functional collaboration. You will help shape adobe pass strategy, raise engineering quality, and grow a high-performing team delivering reliable, enterprise-grade solutions 

Responsibilities 

  • Mentor and guide high performing engineering team 
  • Deliver high-performance web services that are adaptable to multifaceted business needs, influence conceptualisation & outstanding problem solving 
  • Partner with global product management and engineering and operations leaders to help shape technical product architecture & practices, roadmap and release plans 
  • Drive strategic and tactical decisions which ensures the successful delivery of projects 
  • Lead the technical design, vision, and implementation strategy 
  • Develop execution plan and lead the engineering team to complete the vision 
  • Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure solutions are maintainable, modular, and of high code quality 
  • Develop and evolve engineering processes and teamwork models, applying creative problem solving to optimize team efficiency 
  • Attract, hire, on-board and retain top talent. Motivate and develop the team as a player-coach to be a high-performance team. 
  • Craft a positive winning culture built on collaboration and shared accomplishments 
  • Lead the discussions on emerging industry technologies & trends and work with the team & leadership use this knowledge to influence product direction 

What You Need to Succeed 

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years in an engineering management role 
  • Strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and large-scale system design
  • Hands-on technical background in design and develop end-to-end web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies (Java, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, and microservices architecture) 
  • In-depth knowledge of web security, including OAuth2, JWT, SAML, SSO and secure coding practices. 
  • Good understanding in Hadoop, HBase, Apache Ignite, DynamoDB or other SQL/NoSQL databases — including schema design and query optimization. 
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of production systems, with a focus on observability and cost optimization. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and their services for enterprise applications. 
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. 
  • Hands-on experience with scalability and performance tuning for large applications. 
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams, mentor engineers, and build high-performing development teams. 
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a strong bias for action. 
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, take ownership, and drive clarity and results 
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.  
  • Strong people leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, feedback, performance management, and building teams.
