MES Development Lead

Title of the position - Development Lead - MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)

Location - Corporate office (50% travel to the sites)

Role Overview

The role is within the Digital Department, specifically in the MES team, focusing on shop floor systems. This position involves leading the development of shop floor system solution in line with the industry standards to ensure regulatory compliance and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

MES strategy & technical leadership

• Lead the design, development & deployment of robust, scalable MES solutions using .NET, C#, Java & Python technologies
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement custom MES module to optimize manufacturing workflows.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and adopt in the software to keep the solution up to date.
• Ensure ISA 95 standards are applied

Integration & system alignment

• Develop standard plug-in to interface MES with L2 systems such as PLC/SCADA and enterprise apps such as SAP, PLM, LMS & WMS
• Ensure real-time data exchange and maintain coding is done to manage large volume of data transactions.

Compliance, regulation & support

• Ensure compliance with Info-security and other regulatory standards
• Manage controlled change to MES systems/configurations
• Maintain single code base at MES COE

Essential Attributes

• Extensive experience (4~6 years) as a development lead in MES, shop floor applications preferably in Electronics/Semiconductor industry with over all 10~15 years in software development
• Proficiency in programming languages including .NET, Java, C# and Python.
• Experience with Linux. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and relation databases (Oracle, SQL)
• Familiarity with integration protocols such as OPC, MQTT, SECS/GEM and Restful APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science.

Desired Experience Level

• 10-15 years of relevant experience.
