MERN Stack Web Developer (3-Month Contract, Hybrid – Kolkata)

Location: Hybrid (Remote + Onsite at Kolkata Office)

Duration: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract

Start Date: Mid-February 2026

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on MERN Stack Web Developer who can quickly contribute to active projects, work closely with a small team, and deliver high-quality web applications in a fast-paced environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys startup culture, takes ownership, and is comfortable working with evolving requirements.

This is a contract-based role for 3 months (full-time) with the possibility of extension of contract based on performance & project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)
• Translate functional requirements and discussions into working features
• Build clean, scalable, and maintainable front-end and back-end code
• Integrate REST APIs and third-party services
• Debug issues, fix bugs, and optimize performance
• Support deployment and post-release fixes as required
• Collaborate closely with founders, designers, and QA
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and reviews

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with MERN stack development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / ES6+
• Solid experience with React.js (hooks, state management)
• Experience building APIs using Node.js & Express.js
• Working knowledge of MongoDB and schema design
• Experience using Git and collaborative workflows
• Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Basic exposure to GCP or AWS
• Experience working in agile or startup environments
• Basic understanding of Japanese language
