Merchandise Manager

Role Overview

The Merchandiser Retail will be responsible for inventory planning, stock allocation, sell-through tracking, and ensuring the right product availability across stores. The role requires strong analytical ability, coordination skills, and understanding of retail KPIs to support revenue and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Planning & Allocation

• Plan and allocate stock to stores based on sales trends, store grading, and seasonality.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or stock-outs.
• Support replenishment planning for core and fast-moving SKUs.

2. Sell-Through & Performance Tracking

• Track daily/weekly sales performance, sell-through %, stock cover, and ageing inventory.
• Identify slow-moving products and recommend corrective actions (transfers, markdowns).
• Support monthly trade reviews with data insights.

3. Assortment & Range Execution

• Ensure correct depth and width of assortment as per category strategy.
• Support seasonal launches and new store openings with planned stock deployment.
• Coordinate with VM and store teams to ensure strong product visibility.

4. Inter-Department Coordination

• Work closely with Buying, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
• Track vendor deliveries and ensure timely inwarding at warehouse/stores.
• Ensure accurate data updates in merchandising systems.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and Excel skills.
• Understanding of retail KPIs (sell-through, stock turn, GMROI, ATV).
• Attention to detail and planning ability.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Experience & Qualification

• 25 years of experience in retail merchandising (apparel/lifestyle preferred).
• Graduate / MBA in Retail / Fashion Management preferred.
