Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Media Monitoring Analyst to oversee media intelligence, perception tracking, and reputational risk assessment for high-visibility leadership mandates.

This role is central to safeguarding and strengthening public perception through continuous monitoring, evaluation, and insight-driven reporting. The incumbent will track multi-platform media coverage, assess sentiment trends, identify emerging risks, and convert complex data into strategic recommendations that enhance brand positioning and credibility.


Key Responsibilities

(A) Media Intelligence & Monitoring Oversight:

  • Monitor media coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and social platforms.
  • Track real-time mentions, narratives, opinion shifts, and thematic trends.
  • Develop structured monitoring frameworks aligned with leadership positioning goals.
  • Maintain issue logs and coverage categorization systems.


Requires strong attention to detail, structured tracking processes, and understanding of media ecosystems.


(B) Sentiment Analysis & Reputation Assessment:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative sentiment analysis.
  • Assess reputational impact based on tone, reach, credibility, and influence of coverage.
  • Identify perception shifts across stakeholder segments.
  • Develop reputation health indicators and scoring models.


Requires analytical depth, contextual judgement, and strong interpretation capability.


(C) Strategic Risk Identification & Mitigation:

  • Identify emerging reputational risks before escalation.
  • Map issue trajectories and evaluate potential impact scenarios.
  • Provide timely mitigation recommendations aligned with PR and leadership strategy.
  • Support crisis communication through real-time intelligence updates.


Requires foresight, risk sensitivity, and advisory capability at leadership level.


(D) Data Interpretation & Insight Generation:

  • Translate complex media data into actionable insights.
  • Develop intelligence briefs that inform communication and positioning strategy.
  • Identify narrative gaps, competitor positioning patterns, and opportunity areas.
  • Conduct competitive and peer benchmarking analysis.

Requires critical thinking, pattern recognition ability, and strategic orientation.


(E) Executive-Level Reporting & Dashboarding:

  • Prepare structured weekly and monthly reputation dashboards.
  • Present executive-level reports highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop visualization models for leadership decision-making.
  • Maintain clarity, brevity, and strategic focus in reporting.


Requires strong communication clarity and ability to synthesize large data sets effectively.


(F) Crisis Monitoring & Impact Evaluation:

  • Provide real-time monitoring during sensitive situations.
  • Evaluate impact of statements, press releases, and public appearances.
  • Support post-crisis evaluation and recovery tracking.
  • Participate in crisis simulation and escalation drills.


Requires calm execution, confidentiality, and ethical judgement.


(G) Digital & Social Listening Proficiency:

  • Utilize digital listening tools for social sentiment tracking.
  • Monitor influencer discussions and ecosystem conversations.
  • Identify issue trends and forecast emerging narrative directions.
  • Track digital spillover impact of mainstream media coverage.


Requires platform literacy and trend forecasting ability.


Qualifications and Experiences:


  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in media monitoring, reputation analysis, strategic communications, or intelligence reporting.
  • Experience working with senior leadership, public figures, NGOs, or philanthropic organizations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of media landscape, digital ecosystems, and public discourse patterns.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
