Mechanical Project Engineer - SPM & Machinery

We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer who will own NPD and custom machine development projects end-to-end from proposal stage to delivery and installation.

This role sits at the center of the project ecosystem and requires strong project ownership, cross-functional coordination, client interaction, and hands-on involvement across design, development, and execution.

Salary: 6 to 9 LPA (based on experience)

Location: Thiruvottiyur, Chennai

Work Experience: 4 to 6 years

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management & Tracking

• Maintain a real-time project dashboard to track progress and milestones
• Create and manage daily / weekly task plans for design and assembly teams
• Track timelines, identify risks early, and drive corrective actions

2. Design Coordination

• Translate client requirements into functional machine specifications
• Review layouts and 3D assemblies for DFM, usability, and productivity

3. Project Execution

• Follow up closely with procurement, vendors, and outsourced partners
• Monitor daily progress of fabrication and assembly teams
• Act as the coordination bridge between mechanical, electrical, and programming teams

4. Proposal & Costing

• Prepare technical proposals and techno-commercial quotations
• Present machine concepts using 3D concept designs
• Develop BOM-based costing, handle revisions and clarifications

5. Documentation

• Prepare and maintain user manuals, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and spare lists

6. Client Communication

• Handle requirement discussions, clarifications, and progress updates
• Share drawings, documents, and status reports
• Manage scope changes and timeline discussions

7. Installation & Handover

• Supervise installation, commissioning, and production trials
• Ensure smooth project handover after completion

Required Skills:

Technical

• 4+ years experience in machine or equipment design & development
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience in NPD and custom machine / SPM development
• Good understanding of BOMs and manufacturing processes

Communication & Coordination

• Good spoken and written English
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
• Fluency in spoken Tamil
