Job Description

Company Description

The Whiz Lab is committed to transforming education by inspiring kids to engage with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in innovative and creative ways. We emphasize hands-on tinkering that integrates art, science, and technology, allowing children to discover and explore solutions without focusing solely on finding the "right" answer. This approach encourages creative problem-solving and analytical thinking. By fostering curiosity and exploration, The Whiz Lab helps shape the next generation of thinkers and innovators

Job Description

Your primary mission is to bridge the gap between a complex science project and a childs capability. You will work closely with our design team to modify existing projects, ensuring they can be assembled by a child independently, without parental help. You will be the "maker" who takes a digital design and turns it into a physical, child-safe reality.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Key Responsibilities

Design Iteration: Review and modify 200+ in-house designs to simplify assembly and enhance the user experience (UX) for children.

Vendor Coordination: Visit vendors within a 57 km radius to oversee prototyping and communicate technical requirements.

Prototyping: Execute on-the-spot design changes during the sampling process at vendor sites.

Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and procure child-safe raw materials, including MDF, foam, and 3D printing filaments (PLA).

Documentation: Maintain organized design files and version control for all project iterations.

Safety & Usability: Ensure every project adheres to safety standards and is intuitive enough for a 4-year-old to understand.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Software Expertise

High proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one 3D modeling software (Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Catia).

Technical Knowledge

Understanding of manufacturing processes like laser cutting (MDF), 3D printing, and material properties.

User-Centric Mindset

A strong interest in "Product Design for Kids"understanding how small hands work and how children follow instructions.

Execution Skills

Ability to handle the "groundwork"from digital drafting to visiting local industrial units for production.

Why Join Us?

-Work on a meaningful product that inspires the next generation of scientists.

-Hands-on experience with a wide variety of materials and manufacturing techniques.

-A creative, fast-paced environment where your modifications directly impact a child's learning journey.
