Role Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for translating application requirements into robust, manufacturable mechanical architectures for electromagnetic linear actuators and motion systems.

The role involves end-to-end ownership of product development from concept design and structural analysis to prototyping, testing, validation, and production support.

This is a high-ownership role suited for engineers who can independently drive mechanical development programs in a fast-paced deep-tech hardware environment.

Responsibility

• Translate application and performance requirements into detailed mechanical designs.
• Develop mechanical architectures for linear actuators, motor housings, shafts, cooling systems, and structural components.
• Create high-quality 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / equivalent).
• Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles to ensure cost efficiency and production feasibility.
• Implement and interpret GD&T standards for tolerance stack-up and precision control.
• Perform tolerance analysis and fitment validation for moving assemblies.
• Conduct structural and thermal simulations (FEA) where required.
• Lead rapid prototyping cycles including design iterations, fitment checks, and functional validation.
• Work closely with Electrical and Controls teams for system integration.
• Support FMEA and reliability analysis from a mechanical design perspective.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, extrusion, injection molding).
• Maintain structured documentation including drawings, BOMs, revisions, and CRs.

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.

Freshers with strong design fundamentals and hands-on mechanical project experience are encouraged to apply
